ICE stands for International Community Experience.  It is an opportunity for personal development through community action linked with international experiences.

What’s in it for me?

ICE a three stage opportunity for Guides aged between 11 and 13.  Stage 1 is  a Residential weekend involving an introduction to local community projects and international experiences.  You will get the chance to participate in a small scale community project and help plan and shape stage 3 of the opportunity.

Stage 2 is a Briefing day to get together and find out more about the final stage.

Stage 3 is the final stage in the ICE opportunity, only open to Guides who have completed stage 1 and stage 2.  At the weekend the Guides will partake in a large scale community action project, learn about international opportunities and gain the skills required to develop community action within their own units.

ICE is the first stepping stone to international opportunities within Guiding.

How do I get involved?

Open to all Guides aged between 11 and 13 but who will still be 13 by the end of June 2013.

Come find the ICE team at The Garden House at Netherurd on the 31st August (7.30 pm)to 2nd September 2012 (2.00 pm). Guides can come as a ready-formed

Come find the ICE team at The Garden House at Netherurd on the 31st August (7.30 pm)to 2nd September 2012 (2.00 pm). Guides can come as a ready-formed team or as an individual. Leaders are welcome to join, however do need to be present for their Guides to attend.

The weekend will involve:

* Helping out with a community project near Netherurd House

* Experiencing flavours from afar and international cultures such as dancing and crafts

The cost of the weekend will be £68 for Guides and £85 for Adults.  Booking form and cheque must be returned by Thursday 31st May 2012 to –

There will be an opportunity to walk up the hill to join the Jubilee Beacon whcih is being organised by Lour Estates.

Please wear uniform, bring food to share, suitable footwear for walking, and yourself.
